Recent frost and no rain recently have caused the Shannon floods to ease back to almost summer levels causing many anglers to have a try over the weekend. Gerry Casey had a pike in the bay where the new jetty is but hopes to do better when the fish are more settled. An angler from near Shannonharbour called in to tell us that he had caught two pike 10 pounds and 12 pounds weight and selected a few lures from which he carefully removed the price tags in case the pike or the wife might see them.
