Signs of summer with some visitors around. Group of pike anglers from Liverpool crossed over on the fast ferry and hired a cruiser at Carrick-on -Shannon reaching Shannonbridge yesterday after experiencing heavy waves on Lough Ree. Fished in the river out from the old jetty and had some pike the best one weighing 15 lbs caught by Kevin Murphy deadbaiting. The Brisbane angler is still around and Mark Donegan seems to be marking his card for him.
Two people from Florida Ryan Allfrey and Charlene Buckeye stayed over in B+B last night and plan to see Clonmacnois and a number of other places worth seeing in the area today . Ryan was taking his father's advise and drinking the Guinness.
Saw on yesterday's paper that there was a Marching Band Parade in Limerick on Sunday with many bands from America. Lorraine Mc Kenna's friend and her woodwind band were not amoung the prizelist.
