Friday evening was runaway car evening in Shannonbridge. Somebody parked their car outside the priests house and left the handbrake off. Mary Killeen was dropping off the Alive paper in the church and was walking home thinking of people that like to have the paper dropped in. Suddenly there was a crash into the wall beside the gate of the church and as it was a holyman that owned the cr there immediately flowed out water due to the radiator being damaged.Mary was just feet away.
Friday evening Peter Howes arrived leading a party of 19 fishermen on their annual trip to Shannonbridge and Peter set a hard pace for the others by catching 35 large bream on Saturday.
Two pike anglers from Wales Simon Preece and John Phillips were delighted to catch a pike weighing over 21 lbs ( How do you type a half ?) on Friday and recorded it on their digital camera so we were all able to see Simon's catch from Devenish Island. On Saturday they caught a 14 pounder at Correen Ford on a blazing day and when they fetched their camera from the car the sun had wiped out the pike snap. So be warned.
