Marietta Oberhuber is a well known fisherwoman around Shannonbridge. Her husband works at constructing the new power plant and they live in Michael and Madges house in Moore. Marietta has taken to the sport of pike fishing and was pleased to tell us that she caught her biggest one ever last week which measured 86 Cm and weighed about 14 pounds. She is e-mailing a photo to the weekly coarse and pike report that can be found under www.shannon-fishery-board.ie
Fishing continued good this week with bream.tench, roach, hybrids and pike and perch being caught and most released alive again.
Bob Tilley and Kevin Boltz from Bristol finish their annual visit today and fished Cappaleitra backwater a few times.Best bag 62 lbs
Bob cannot understand why other mates that used to come to Shannonbidge now prefer to stay at home and fish from 04.30 AM to 09.30 PM
