The Shannonbridge football team were disappointed last evening when they were beaten by Ferbane by three points at their game in Clara. This more or less knocks them out of this years championships. Ferbane tried to have the game postponed and there was a rumour that seven of the Ferbane fifteen were due to play a match earlier in the day for the Ferbane soccer club Gallen United
Talking to a Polish construction worker yesterday and asked him did he fish. Was surprized when he said that he played tennis on the village tennis court with some of his workmates and some local people. Good to see the facility getting used.
Doggone-- A distraugh owner of a young black and white springer spaniel pup was busy putting up posters at the weekend. It appears he bough the young pup in Cloghan and when he got to his home near Ballinasloe the pup was missing.You can contact the owner at 090-9673994 should you see the nameless puppy.
